On January 6\, 2009 NNEPA Radon staff conducted an outreach on recommending Radon Resistant New Construction for home site lease request from tribal community members. Tribal members are given a packet when they fill out an application so the NNEPA Radon program will be allowed to attach information on RRNC. At the same time we recommended that thier new Head Start Center have mitigation installed in thier foundation.

Outreach will be conducted in the conference room at Winslow Indian Health Service\, on Tuesday\, January 27th from 1-3 p.m. RESEP is designed to screen and detect cancer caused by nuclear bomb testing. Also the program helps those individuals who have contracted cancer\, file for government compensation available.

The 2009 annual National Radon Action Month ceremony is being held at the National Press Club (http\://npc.press.org/)\, 529 14th St. NW\, Washington\, D.C. 20045\, on Wednesday\, January 28th from 6\:30 to 8\:30 pm. The event recognizes individuals and organizations that have contributed to radon risk reduction\, and to raise awareness and spur broader public action to reducing the risk of lung cancer.
This event is sponsored by the National Safety Council (NSC) and its partners\, the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD)\, the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (AARST)\, the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL)\, the U.S. EPA and many others. In addition to the leadership of these organizations\, a several state legislators are expected to attend.
