CRCPD Board Names New Chair of E-25 Committee on Radon

Chrystine (Chrys) Kelley, of the Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment (CDPHE), has been confirmed as Chair of the CRCPD E-25 Committee on Radon by the CRCPD Board.

Chrys has served as the Radon Program Manager of the CDPHE for since 2005. During that time, the Radon Program has developed the Low Income Radon Mitigation Assistance Program, hosted numerous meetings for stakeholders and the public, and seen the adoption of Appendix F, for radon resistant new construction, in numerous Colorado cities and counties.

As Chair of the Committee, Chrys will be involved in planning and assisting in the coordination of the 29th Annual Radon Training Conference, as well as addressing the charges of the Committee, some of which are to:

* Review and comment on draft and existing publications.

* Provide input to USEPA on the National Advertising Campaign and other public awareness activities, as requested.

* Provide a liaison to USEPA to assist in the establishment of model national construction standards and techniques, as requested.

* Assist USEPA in the establishment of standards and policy on radon in water.

* Assist USEPA with the development of Uniform Results Reporting Language, as requested.

* Provide liaison for CRCPD with the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (AARST).

* Develop and provide technical training to support state radon activities in conjunction with the National Radon Training conference and as needed.
