Nevada Offers Wide Range of Outreach Activities During Radon Action Month 2019

by Margaret Henderson

The University of Nevada Reno has planned numerous events for National Radon Action Month, January 2019. The Nevada Radon Education Program, supported by the USEPA and Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health, educates the residents of Nevada about the radon health risk. University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE) offers literature, educational programs and radon test kits in many county Extension offices.

To promote radon awareness, testing and mitigation, the Program has numerous plans for presentations and outreach events during the 2019 National Radon Action Month.

Several counties will be hosting workshops and presentations. The Nevada Radon Education Program has a listing of opportunities in Carson City, Clark, Douglas, Elko and Washoe Counties. The website provides an “RSVP” option for registering. See http://www.unce.unr.edu/programs/sites/radon/events.asp
