The 29th National Radon Training Conference Report & Radon Hero Awards

By Chrys Kelley

The 29th National Radon Training Conference was held on September 9-11, 2019, in Denver, Colorado at the Grand Hyatt Denver. Two full days of plenary sessions and a half-day of Building Technical Capacity Training were presented.

There were 117 registrants for the three-day conference, with attendees from 38 states, tribal nations, international, and partners from both USEPA, coalitions and associations. Evaluations from the 29th National Radon Training Conference are being analyzed and will be used in planning the 30th National Radon Training Conference.

CRCPD was proud to present the radon hero award to two recipients this year, Bill Angel, University of Minnesota and Jim Burkhart, Western Regional Radon Training Center. Both candidates were very deserving of the award.

The Committee on Radon (E-25) and CRCPD staff are to be commended for their efforts of putting together another outstanding conference.
