Connecticut Response to COVID-19 Pandemic

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the Connecticut Department of Public Health Radon Program has taken the following actions to protect the health and safety of Connecticut’s radon workforce and state residents.

An industry safety sheet with recommendations for radon contractors with regard to home inspections and radon testing during these COVID-19 times was shared with all nationally certified NRPP and NRSB radon measurement professionals in Connecticut.

Due to school closures, our qualified radon measurement in schools professionals were asked to postpone all school testing activities scheduled after March 13th, 2020 until next year’s testing season to avoid testing while school was not in session.

All in-person meetings with Connecticut Department of Public Health Radon Program Staff have been canceled/postponed or moved to virtual platforms until May 20th, 2020.

The 2020 Radon Measurement in Connecticut Schools Training is scheduled to be held June 15th, 2020 in Hartford if allowed considering social distancing recommendations at that time.
