Last week I used an IR camera to locate radiant heat lines in a basement slab. We started with the heat off for several days and then turned it on when we were ready to measure. I also turned up the boiler temperature to its highest setting, I was attempting to create as much temperature differential as possible I was able to measure the water temperatures at the manifold, outgoing was 140 and return was 80. It seemed relatively straightforward to trace the lines. One person operating the camera and the other drawing in pencil on the floor.

Subject: In-floor radiant heating and SSD mitigation?
Has anyone had experience installing a mitigation system in a basement floor with radiant heating coils? I have a prospective customer with such a home. The basement is finished with 2 bedrooms, a TV room and bath. This is a relatively new home less than 10 years old.
I have a good place selected in a bedroom closet for the suction point, but don't want to hit a heating coil. Is there a standard distance in from the basement wall that the coils are installed? Any help or suggestions are very welcome.
Thanks.
