The Children’s Environmental Health Network: Protecting Preschoolers from Radon

The Children’s Environmental Health Network: Protecting Preschoolers from Radon

Although most U.S. children under age six spend up to 40 hours a week in child care settings, little has been done to protect young children from environmental health hazards like radon in child care and preschools. The Children’s Environmental Health Network (CEHN) is a national, multidisciplinary, non-profit organization whose mission is to protect the fetus and the child from environmental hazards and promote a healthy environment by focusing on the areas of research, policy, and education. Recognizing preschools and child care settings as a missed opportunity to address children’s environmental health. In response, CEHN launched the Georgia Healthy Environments for Child Care Facilities and Preschools (HECCP) program in 2006.

Hello everyone,
I just spoke with Dave’s sisters. Calling hours for Dave will be at the
Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord, NH 03301 on Sunday
November 30 from 4-6pm, and the funeral service will be at the same
location on Monday December 1 at 12:00 noon (䐢

Since I’m not familiar with all of Dave’s friends and professional
contacts, I’d appreciate it if you would forward this information to
anyone else who knew and/or worked with Dave.

Thanks again,
Rick

Green Collar Jobs

User photo for:

During the Presidential campaign both candidates touted the creation of "green-collar jobs" as a centerpiece of their economic policies. The media usually equated green collar with jobs in the renewable energy sector. However, a very compelling case can be made that environmental services, like radon testing, mitigation, and RRNC are also green collar jobs.

Perhaps we need to start building a case on how increased radon mitigation not only saves lives, but creates jobs. Does anyone have some facts and figures that could help support this argument?
