Sure, do it.......if the customer guarantees outdoor radon concentrations will stay below 1.0 pCi/L.

Subject: [RNPROF] Guarantees

Just so everyone understands, in my area most of the homes have gravel under the slabs. From the late 70's they started installing interior drain tiles along with the exterior. So, most of our systems are straight forward sub-slab installs that pull air through gravel & drain tile, which is good because I'm not to smart. For a long time now I have guaranteed levels of 1.9 or below if the home has gravel under the slab. Is that a risk? Not really, to me anyway. When a system is installed properly most homes come in below 1, hardly any over 1.5. My question is this. Has anyone ran into a company guaranteeing 1.0 or below, in the basement? I don't think its worth the risk, even when installing a larger air volume fan. If 15% of the homes come in between 1.1 and 1.9 we would be
wasting too much time chasing down ghosts.
I have a competitor that is hurting for business, his lies and business practices are catching up with him, that is now guaranteeing 1.0 or less. A potential customer that tested at 3.1 wants a system because they work out of the basement. If I guarantee the 1.0 or less I have the job. Opinions?
